"I was recording it in a state of mind where I felt I was okay, but clearly I wasn't," she told Zane Lowe. Lovato was nervous leading up to the performance. But the audience stayed with her and supported her through the work she was doing on stage, and she powered through it to raucous applause and a standing ovation. This was also her first time on stage since that event. Lovato took the stage to begin her performance, but she had to stop for a moment before continuing. Lovato and Gomez, also 27, starred on Barney and Friends as children before transitioning into teen Disney stars. "I even listened back to it and I'm like, 'Gosh, I wish I could go back in time and help that version of myself.'".
